I’ve just had a quick re-read of what I have written since the beginning and realise that I could add a few more things that may help anyone attempting this on your own.
First, my diet throughout the weaning was primarily vegetarian with fish/seafood about once a week. My dairy intake was low (mostly yogurt). I was neither over nor underweight. My diet included lots of spicy foods and although I do not have a sensitivity, I tried to limit gluten, refined sugars and prepackaged foods. I also had given up coffee and drank only loose leaf jasmine green tea.
For the duration of the wean I stuck with the every two weeks schedule described in the beginning. I mapped the timings out on paper, and I was not able to avoid a few weeks of waking up in the middle of the night to take them, but it was worth it in the end. I chose to push the clock by 6 hour chunks as it divides neatly into 24 and seemed reasonable at the time but 4 or 8 hour blocks would work as well.
I currently drink one to two cups of coffee every morning. It occasionally (every few months?) upsets my stomach but it’s very mild. Fried and really greasy foods can also give a mild upset but I just don’t crave them so it’s not generally an issue.
